Can't Find Pass Phrase

Recommended Posts

Hello wdccashcow, if you forgot your passphrase sadly there is no one in the world that can help you :(

Your wallet is encrypted and the only way to send coins is with passphrase

I hope you remember

Its like a password. You choose it the moment you encrypt your wallet.

Its impossible to recover, in fact that's the reason that crypto is secure in the first place.

I am very sorry

Did you make a new transaction? If so, there is a delay in block on the network. Just wait for a while.

If it is a old wallet which you didn't touch for a while check your addresses on wdcexplorer.

If it shows your wdc are on the addresses, you might want to do a rescan in the client.

Yes! Found my pass phrase!

So I have backed up wallet and moved to wallet on new pc. But they are in 'unconfirmed'.

How do I get them into the 'balance' section?

Make sure you are running last version because old versions do not point to current seed nodes. Is it fully synchronized?

1] Edit Daemons.cfg file and find the content of variable DataDirectory.

2] While the wallet is off copy your old wallet.dat to that directory

3] Execute wallet and wait

I have found the above, but how do i copy the wallet.dat file to this? Can you show me screen shot?

You need to use Windows Explorer, the DataDirectory variable holds the directory you need to copy too
